AfricInvest's FIVE Leads Growth Round in BFREE to Accelerate its Pan-African Expansion

AfricInvest announces that its Financial Inclusion Vehicle (FIVE) has led a growth round in BFREE, a pan-African technology-enabled platform focused on the acquisition and servicing of non-performing unsecured retail and SME loans. Alongside Algebra Ventures and existing investors, AfricInvest will support BFREE’s expansion as it pursues larger portfolio acquisitions, deepens partnerships with financial institutions, and enters new markets across Africa. Today, BFREE manages more than 10 million borrower accounts across over 35 transactions, helping financial institutions better manage distressed credit while supporting more transparent and sustainable repayment pathways. The investment reflects AfricInvest’s commitment to backing innovative financial services platforms that strengthen financial systems, expand responsible access to credit, and advance inclusive growth across the continent.
