Aziz Mebarek took part to the EU-Africa Business Forum

Aziz Mebarek took part to the EU-Africa Business Forum, held in April 2014 in Brussels. Mr Mebarek was speaking to an audience of 500+ high-level delegates on the subject of closing the funding gap for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in Africa. Mr. Mebarek said that “SMEs are widely seen as the engine of Africa’s economic growth and central to job creation, but they have struggled to raise finance because of perceptions of risk. However, perceptions need to change as the “reality of risk is totally different to what everybody has in mind”.
