Michael Barth

Mr. Michael Barth has had a long and distinguished career in emerging markets development and investment. He is currently Managing Partner of Washington based Barth & Associates LLC, an independent emerging markets investment advisory firm, and holds a number of board directorships and advisory positions.

Mr. Barth was Chief Executive Officer of FMO, the Development Bank of the Netherlands, specializing in emerging markets capital markets development and private investment. He held a number of senior positions at the International Finance Corp. (IFC), part of the World Bank Group, where he was responsible for a range of capital market investments in Asia, Africa, Latin America and Central & Eastern Europe, as well as for several groundbreaking investment funds and market offerings. Prior to the IFC, he held several management posts in Citicorp in the U.S, the Netherlands and Ireland, and he was an economist at the Hudson Institute in Paris. Michael is a Dutch national and U.S. resident.

Between 2006 and 2012, Michael held different senior posts in Darby Overseas Investments Ltd., an emerging markets private equity/mezzanine firm.
