Mr. Burns is a private equity (PE) professional in the industry covering everything from direct investing as a General Partner into startups, expansion capital and acquisition financings, to PE fund of funds. He has run his own advisory company, particularly assisting Development Finance Instituions (DFI) and foundations in the area of development and impact investment. He has worked in 45 countries, is a director of SIFEM, the Swiss DFI, chairman of two listed investment companies, and member of several PE fund Advisory Boards and Investment Committees in Africa and Asia. His clients include, amongst others, the Asian Development Bank, CDC Group, Proparco, FMO, AfricInvest, responsAbility, Finnfund, and BIO.
